Marcia, Marcia, Marcia,

I want to personally thank you again for two wonderful days in our school
system. I finally got through all the evaluation responses. The teachers
thought you were a great presenter with a message they needed to hear.
They also said that this was the best workshop they had ever attended.
Many came to the workshop less than enthusiastic because they thought they
were going to be "sitting and getting" for two days. That all changed
within the first hour. I had one teacher say that she had brought a John
Steinbeck Novel with her to read and never opened that book. She left it
at home the second day.

I must share the following quote with you. You will probably use it in

future presentations.
"I intend to start tomorrow using what I've learned today and, God Willing,
I will never go back to my boring ways. I enjoyed myself and will be a
better teacher for attending." This comes from a teacher who needed to
make that improvement. This alone was worth all the money we spent.

You were going to give me a check sheet for administrators to use as they
visit classrooms to check off what strategies were being used. Would you
please mail or email it to me?

My plans for using the information is to give teachers a period of time at
The beginning of next school year to talk to each other at each grade level
system wide as to what strategies worked and didn't work for them. I also
want to give them some time to work on lesson plans at the beginning of the
school year and have some time during the school year to talk to other
teachers about what they are doing. I would like for you to do a follow up
visit in August of 2005 if possible.

Again thank you. You have made a significant change in the Rhea County
School System.
