"I didn't want to let another day pass without thanking you so much for how you INSPIRED me on Tuesday, Oct. 26! I attended the session in Colleyville, TX. I learned so much about teaching and the brain that I was in AWE!!!!
I woke up this morning wishing I had stepped out of my shell to introduce myself to you, but for some reason I chose not to. Needless to say, I never contact speakers after their presentations, but I was compelled to contact you and my sorority sister said, "why not?" You left a tremendous mark on my life and I wanted you to know!
I know you travel around the world and probably get a million and one email messages from teachers like me, but I had to get this off of my chest, because I am truly grateful for your knowledge and your passion for teaching.
I am originally from Omaha, NE, but my husband and I moved to Texas 9 years ago and we have a 4 year old daughter, Kimaya. After 15 years of classroom teaching, I lost my passion and two years ago, I stepped out of the classroom for a breather. I began working for Tarrant County College District in the Education Department and thoroughly enjoyed having the opportunity to advise students interested in the teaching field. This is my first year back and I am teaching 3rd grade in a self-contained classroom. Things are going good.
Thank you so much for greeting us at the door. I have to say that I was definitely caught off guard, because that has never happened before out of all the trainings and presentations that I have attended. It meant a lot. What an awesome idea!!!!
To sum this up, YOU WERE ABSOLUTELY GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!"
